Charities The Academy of Hope is a school for low income and no income adults in Washington, DC.  It offers classes in math, reading, computer skills, job readiness, and GED preparation.  AOH serves more than 500 students each year and donations help to subsidize the cost of textbooks, computers, and a small staff. Between 1997 and 2002, Megan volunteered as a teacher and tutor in math for adults preparing for their GED exams.
