But if you must. . .
We understand that there are some who wouldn't feel comfortable coming to a wedding without a gift for the new bride and groom. To accommodate this tradition, we prefer that you make a charitable donation to organizations that are important to us. Either:
The Academy of Hope or
The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
However. . .
If a charitable contribution does not feel quite right, we have registered for just a few items that we could use. Although, we do hope that you would consider making a charitable donation at least a small portion of your gift to us.

The Academy of Hope
is a school for low income and no income adults in Washington, DC. It offers classes in math, reading, computer skills, job readiness, and GED preparation. AOH serves more than 500 students each year and donations help to subsidize the cost of textbooks, computers, and a small staff.
Between 1997 and 2002, Megan volunteered as a teacher and tutor in math for adults preparing for their GED exams. As a graduate student, she isn’t currently teaching, but plans to return once she completes her degree.
