If you have any free time that you'd like to kill in the area, here are a few recommendations.   Visiting Valley Forge is the most time consuming, and we'd only recommend it if you have a strong interest in the Civil War and have a good chunk of free time you're looking to fill (4 hours or so).   Hiking in Valley Green or shopping and wandering around Chestnut Hill is relatively close by and a nice way to spend an hour or two.   But the most highly recommended attraction is the place that serves the best cheesesteaks in the Philadelphia area - Dalessandro's.   Although, if you’re vegetarian, perhaps the hike in Valley Green would be a better recommendation. Note: under no circumstance should any of these diversions cause you to be late for the wedding!   And remember to please leave plenty of time to allow for the shuttling between the parking lot and the school (thanks). Visit Valley Forge National Park www.valleyforge.org This is about 30-45 minutes away from the ACE Center.  To get there, make a Left out of the ACE Center. Then turn Left onto Ridge Ave.  At the first traffic light turn Right onto Church Lane.  When you get to Germantown Pike with the firehouse directly in front of you, you want to cross the traffic and turn Left.  Stay on Germantown Pike through four traffic lights to the Pennsylvania turnpike. Head west on the PA turnpike to the Valley Forge exit, which is the next exit.  Ask the person in the tollbooth how to get to the historic grounds from there. Hike in Valley Green This wooded valley is relatively close by (about 5-10 minutes away from the ACE Center).  To get there, turn Left out of ACE Center then turn Right onto Ridge Ave.  Go to the first light at Bells Mill Road and make a Left.  Follow Bells Mill Road to bottom of the hill.  There is parking available to get out and hike/run along the Wissahickon Creek through Valley Green Park. Shop in Chestnut Hill www.chestnuthillpa.com This too is close by (about 10-15 minutes away from the ACE Center).  To get there, follow the directions to Valley Green above.  Continue up Bells Mill Road to Germantown Ave.  Turn Right onto Germantown Ave.  Follow this for 1-2 miles before you are in the thick of Chestnut shops and galleries. Turn Left out of the ACE Center and then Right onto Ridge Ave.  In about 1 mile, Ridge Ave. will fork after the light at the Andorra Shopping Center.  You want to be in the left lanes and get onto Henry Ave.  Stay on Henry for about 3 miles. When you get to Roxborough Ave, you want to make a Right (there will be a little league baseball field on the corner).  Go to the dead end and make a Right onto Magdelena St..  Make your third Right onto Wendover St..  Before getting back to Henry Ave., park your car.  Dalessandro’s is on the corner of Henry and Wendover.  Enjoy!
